Dry-fog disinfection as a method for processing vehicles for passenger transport

Abstract Due to the corona pandemic, demand for efficient and fast-acting disinfection measures is high. In this work, disinfecting potential of a dry fogging technology (Apollon Biotech GmbH, Germany) was investigated possibility vehicles passenger transport. This could represent new approach processing emergency or local transport quickly cost-effectively. A public bus used as model vehicle (Ferienfahrschule Hense GbR, Germany). tested at predetermined points before after dry-fog with swab contact plate samples. addition, contaminated sample tiles (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538; 5x104 CFU) were placed some locations in order be able record standardized germ reduction. To determine decontamination effect air vehicle, active airborne measurements performed. measurement, our results indicated reduction approx. 68% microbiological contamination. Screening total contamination several selected sites showed an average load approximately 348 CFU per test site. After disinfection, bacterial count reduced 18 also shown tiles.
